Essential Oils for Infants, Babies, and Newborns
Essential Oils (Certified Therapeutic Oils) are extremely powerful. They are highly concentrated extracts that are naturally found and distilled from different parts of plants, including, leaves, flowers, twigs, the peel, bark and roots. Their unique chemical structure (carbon based) allows them to pass directly through the skin and into the blood stream where they can even penetrate the cells to restore, rejuvenate, and regenerate.
As part of a holistic approach to pregnancy, labor, and delivery Essential Oils (Certified Therapeutic) can be used to ease this process, promote over all wellness, reduce stress, and provide a more natural approach to birthing.

How to use Essential Oils with Infants
It is most effective with infants to use them aromatically and topically.
Even the aroma of essential oils can enter into the babies body, causing greater relaxation, mood changes and a general sense of well being. Diffusing the oils into the air is an excellent choice.
When using them topically they recommend rubbing (with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil) the Certified Therapeutic Oil onto baby’s back or the bottoms of their feet which allows it to enter the bloodstream within seconds.

Stephanie Fritz, author of “Essential Oils for Pregnancy, Birth and Babies“, has provided a short list of those oils she uses on baby everyday, but all oils carry a benefit and cannot be overdone, especially if used with a carrier oil.
Frankincense on the crown of the head for bonding
Lavender and Chamomile for calming
Myrrh on the umbilical stump and protection of systems
Spruce/Chamomile & Cedarwood undiluted on the feet for grounding
Melissa on the bottoms of feet helping to support a healthy immune system
